As an agronomist and researcher specializing in sustainable feedstock production from nonfood and drought resistant energy crops, Dr. Nahar has considerable expertise in utilizing oilseed crops to produce biodiesel and usable byproducts by chemical processes. With 25 years of research experience on the field, greenhouse, laboratory, and with tissue culture techniques, she frequently publishes research articles in peer-reviewed academic and scientific journals and books. She explores renewable energy (bio-fuel), climate change, soil-water-plant relations and waste water treatment. Below are selected papers:

Dr. Nahar has completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Department of Applied Plant Sciences and Plant Biotechnology of Universität für Bodenkultur Wien (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences) in 2000, at Vienna, Austria majoring in Agronomy. She also holds a Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Soil Chemistry and Bachelors of Science (B.Sc. Hons) in Soil Science from the Department of Soil, Water and Environment at the University of Dhaka.
